What are you searching for?
When I ask young people what do you want to work at when you grow up, most of the time they are not sure. I understand that. What are young people or even older people searching for?
Some are searching for money.
Many think happiness is having money to buy any and everything they want. These are considering what occupation will pay the most.
Some may grow to the point of having a love for money. In 1 Timothy 6:9-10 “But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
Notice God does not condemn having money, but the love of money.

Some are searching for pleasure. They long for the time when they will travel or experience the finer things in life. Those who search for only pleasure are seeking one pleasure, then another pleasure. There is no end to pleasure.

For, after all, these are things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:31-33.
