Frances Marie Inman, 94, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024.

Frances was born Feb. 2, 1930, to Artie and Bertha (Pennington) McGowen in Lone Hill, Missouri. She married Norman Inman Nov. 5, 1949, in Poplar Bluff.

Frances was a lifelong member of First Church of God of Poplar Bluff. She was well remembered as a friendly face of K-Mart, where she worked for 15 years. Frances was a talented seamstress and was even recognized in a magazine article for the beautiful wedding dresses she created. She and her husband, Norman, worked together on countless quilts; he would embroider the blocks while she hand quilted the quilts. They had fulfilled quilt orders in every state. She was involved with the Oak Grove Homemaker’s Club for many years. Frances was also a member of the Oak Grove PTA eventually holding every position. She enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal’s Baseball. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Frances is survived by two children, Robert (Pam) Inman and Judy (Ralph) Douglas; four sisters, Dimple Sallee, Vivian McMillin, Beulah Clark, and Glenda Kirkman; five grandchildren, Chad Douglas, Craig (Meredith) Douglas, Corbin (Jennifer) Inman, Lance (Cassy) Inman, and Ashley Inman; 14 great-grandchildren, Adeline, Ralston, Barrett, Laird, Liam, Elliott, Merin, Tytin, Tinley, Peyton, Kinzer, Emmi, Journey, and Michael; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Inman; three brothers, Roy, Artie, and Bob McGowen; two sisters, Lois Kirkman and Florine Moore.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. -noon Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at noon with Bro. Guy Inman officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
