Duwayne Standridge

Duwayne Standridge was born to Millie King Standridge and Duel Standridge May 6, 1941 in Atkins, Arkansas.

He was one of four children; Ilene, Cecil, Duwayne and Fib. Duwayne spent many years residing in California and Texas before moving back to Dexter. At one time, Duwayne owned his own Texaco Gas Station in Blythe, California and Papa DU’s Smoked Meat in Ripley, Mississippi. He also worked in mining, farming and construction over the years.

He was a hunter, fisherman and gardener, and made jerky by the pound for Christmas gifts each year.

Duwayne passed away Friday, March 29 at the age of 82 with his daughters and ex-wife, Eleanor Alsup, by his side. He is survived by his sister, Ilene Miller of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, his children Tim Standridge of Dexter, Missouri, Lorrie Tedesco of Haslet, Texas and Beth Hoelker of Louisville, Kentucky, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
