Fireworks worth $25,000 are poised to give an unforgettable show at Brick’s Off-road Park at dusk on Friday. According to president of the Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce Steve Halter, the 20-minute display will be set to eclipse-themed music.

The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family of up to six individuals. He described the scale as, “The show you get on the 4th of July but add in music.” Brick’s also offers camping and RV spots for the weekend.

The city of Poplar Bluff and the chamber are both sponsoring the event. Brick’s, the city, and the chamber will share ticket proceeds.

Halter noted, “There is no way the ticket sales will come anywhere near the cost of the firework show.”

While the fireworks could be visible from a distance, he recommends buying a ticket to get the full experience with the musical accompaniment.

Halter explained Brick’s was chosen as the site for two reasons. The first consideration was space to accommodate the anticipated crowd. Second, the regular 4th of July site at Clinton Park will be full of campers.

The show adds a dash of color to an already memorable few days leading up to the eclipse.

Halter said it will be a great opportunity for everyone to get out on a Friday night and see an incredible display.

“How often do you get to see a big fireworks show other than the 4th of July?” he posed to residents.
