It is with profound sadness that the family of David Alan LeGrand announces his peaceful passing on Feb. 3, 2023 at the age of 73 years.

More than anything, David loved being with his family. He was an avid gardener, music aficionado and a man of faith. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 42 years, Susan; children, Rodney LeGrand (Leah), Jennifer LeGrand, Lucas

LeGrand, Dustin LeGrand (Rivers), Chase LeGrand (Rachel); siblings Steve LeGrand (Charlotte), Deborah LeGrand Cochran (Jug), step-brother Gary Trentelman (Neisha); as well as his 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his father, Norman LeGrand, and his mother, Mary Ann (Clark) Trentelman.

David graduated from Poplar Bluff Senior High School in 1967. He attended Southeast Missouri State University before serving six years in the U.S. Navy.

Upon honorable discharge, he and his then-wife, Ann Hafford (since deceased) owned Ann’s Figurama located on Highway 67 South, Poplar Bluff.

In 1978, David moved to Houston and pursued roles in the oil, gas, and industrial engineering industry, eventually achieving a Black Belt Six Sigma Certification through Dow Chemicals. At Dow, he was a coach and mentor to many.

After retirement, he consulted for firms throughout Houston. David also volunteered for 30 years with the Youth Soccer Organization in roles such as board member and coach.

The family welcomes all who knew David to a Celebration of Life Reception in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, St. Anne’s Hall, 825 Vine St. behind Sacred Heart Church from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 8. In lieu of flowers, the family asks

for contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association of America in honor of David’s surviving spouse Susan Browning LeGrand.
