MAIN EVENT: Kick the year off with classes and art

Start the year off right with art, healthful eating and financial knowledge in this week’s MAIN EVENT.

Michel Chiropractic Center is hosting a wellness program at 6 p.m. Thursday called Eating Right for the New Year.

The event’s slogan is “Don’t eat less, eat better.” Gut-friendly snacks will be provided. Please RSVP through the Center’s Facebook page.

Saturday is the opening reception of a painting exhibit by renowned Catt Vaughn, a protégé of area art educator Sali Ware. The reception runs from 6-8 p.m. and includes a talk by the artist.

Teens can learn vital financial management skills on Thursdays this month through the Poplar Bluff Municipal Library. The Saving and Budgeting for Teens class meets 1-2 p.m. Jan. 12, 19 and 26 at the Main Branch, and enrollment is free. More information is available on poplarbluff.org.
