Truman Day Rally to be held Saturday

Trudy Busch Valentine is among the speakers scheduled for Saturday's event.

The 57th annual Truman Day Rally will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn in Poplar Bluff.

Organizers said it is an event to honor Harry S. Truman, who was Missouri’s only president, and to meet candidates running for office in 2022. Speakers will be Dr. Alan K. Green, Randi McCallian and Trudy Busch Valentine.

Green is running for auditor. He is a former police officer, former advisor to Gov. Jay Nixon and former head of a state agency.

McCallian is running for Congress. She is a health educator with a background in health care improvement, and has 15 years of experience of working with families.

Trudy Busch Valentine is running for U.S. Senate. She is a mother, nurse, supporter of children’s causes and a fourth generation Missourian.

Dinner for the Truman Day Rally will be catered by Karon Campbell of Tasteful Creations. There will be a silent auction. Tickets are $25 and can be bought at the door.
