Former Carter County Prosecuting Attorney Rocky Kingree is scheduled to make an initial appearance on alleged first-degree burglary charges Thursday in Stoddard County Division II.

Court documents list Kingree’s address as Piedmont. He is listed on the August primary ballot for Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney.

On the request for the warrant, it states on or about April 24, Kingree is accused of allegedly entering his mother Jeanne Kingree’s home at 502 Guiling St., Bloomfield, and taking numerous guns along with a large amount of ammunition.

Stephen P. Sokoloff has been named special prosecutor. Associate Circuit Judge H. Mark Preyer is scheduled to preside at Kingree’s appearance.

Kingree served as Carter County prosecutor from 2011-2015.

Allegations are Kingree had been texting Jeanne Kingree about the guns while she was out of town. She called the Missouri State Highway Patrol who had a Stoddard County Sheriff’s Officer check the residence. No one was there, but the house was unlocked. When Jeanne Kingree returned home she contacted law enforcement officers to report she had discovered numerous guns with a large amount of ammunition were missing.

Among the items missing were:

- Marlin .22 caliber stainless model 60 SB,

- Mossberg 835 Ultra Mag 12 gauge shotgun,

- Norinco SKS 7.62X39 semi automatic,

- Norinco SKS 7.62X39 semi automatic,

- Remington Model 66 .22 caliber semi-automatic,

- New England Arms Hand Rifle 7mm-08,

- Traditions Lighting Lightweight 50 caliber muzzleloader and

- large amounts of ammunition are also missing.
