First 'Cow Day' in Poplar Bluff

Photo of the first 'Cow Day' held in Poplar Bluff as first published in The Weekly American, now the Daily American Republic, June 13, 1929 edition. Approximately 1500 people were in attendance for the presentation of a purebred 'Jersey" cow to a local farmer. 'Cow Day' was held the first Wednesday of each month and was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Retail Merchants Association of Poplar Bluff.
