Idea to

stop hunger

Hello, Speak Out. On the front page of today's DAR there was a headline that said, Stop Hunger in Our Community. Hey, I've got an idea. Let's have a Chamber of Commerce that does something like getting the low-rent air-conditioner people out of that big facility so they can actually recruit a place to come in that will have more than 10 jobs. Let's get rid of the place that's using a lot of valuable parking space for semis that could be put to use by somebody providing more than just a few jobs. Let's find somebody that can use the old shoe factory building or if it serves no purpose whatsoever -- what about a rehab center? Or a half-way house? Make a motel out of it, cheap housing, you know. There really needs to be changing --if you won't feed people, give them jobs! Put 'em to work. And you got to have a Chamber of Commerce that is actively recruiting something other than minimum wage grocery store to come to town. Thank you.

Relay for Life

not at BOB

It was just brought to my attention that the Relay for Life was NOT held at the BOB--big orange building--because the fees to have that event there was jacked up over a thousand dollars from previous years. Wonder who's gonna put that in their pocket? Thanks a lot.

People are

just so stupid

I'd like to air some of my pet peeves. I can't see how people can be so stupid. Must not read any instructions. Handicapped cards never left hanging in the car when driving, only when parked. Person should be in the car that is handicapped. Social Security cards never carried in billfold. Birth certificate should be left at home. Leave car unlocked with purse, money and checkbook and pills all night. Bicycles and toys laying in the yard waiting for 'em to be picked up. Wise up! You only get what you deserve. Thank you.
