City should

repay utility fund

The Municipal Utility Board should demand the city repay the $4.5 million it borrowed from the utility fund to purchase City Cable. After the sale of City Cable the City of Poplar Bluff profited over $8 million. If the repayment isn't made residential utility rates will skyrocket. Discussion about an autonomous board is nothing more than a smoke screen to change the topic of repayment to the utility board.

Why New Wave?

Yes, I want to say something. Charter wanted to move in instead of New Wave, but New Wave outbid 'em and I wish Charter came in because they're in Sikeston and I talked to them personally. You can get 130 channels for $30 or $20 for the first year and free HD TV and everything and we would get better channels, better service and better everything so I wish they'd outbid New Wave because New Wave is, I can see, gonna be very expensive already and they are not giving us any better shows than what we got before when we had the city. So I wish Charter could win and New Wave has a two year contract and they are gonna try to outbid them but people have to call Charter and let them know. The more people they know that wants them in this area the better so like New Wave used to say, "It's out of our control," so why pay for somethin' that they can't take care of. Man, I wish we had Charter! Because I am the first one they will have. Bye.
