Thanks for help with Tablescapes

To the Editor:

Thank you for your recent coverage of Tablescapes, an Altrusa project to raise awareness and funds for the historic railroad steps.

We want to thank all those in the community who prepared tables, purchased tickets, came to the event and those who may have furnished supplies to us for the event. A big thank you goes to Ken Clanahan for his assistance in the project carting tables or whatever was needed. Jim Chrisman also contributed to the event. Thanks also to Rob Gleason of the Municipal Opera in St. Louis for providing entertainment throughout the event. Thank you to our judges who gave of their time to assist in this project.

Winners as decided by the judges were Gift Connection in the Professional category and RSVP Chorus in the Amateur category. Table prepared by Cathy Fox won the People's Choice award which was selected by those who attended the event by voting for the table of their choice.

Monies from Tablescapes goes to assist the Poplar Bluff Historic Depot Corporation in the restoration of the grand staircase.
