Thoughts on faith, prophecy and results
Religion is similar to other things in life. There are many different religions in the world. Christianity is worldwide, as are Buddhism, Hinduism and several others. Many do not believe there is a god. Please give some thought to what Christianity offers. You understand that Christianity is based on Jesus of Nazareth being the Christ, the Son of God.
The prophets, directed by God hundreds of years prior, made many predictions before the Christ came into the world. Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled these. Many of them concerned what those around the Christ would do. These were carried out just as foretold by God. Isaiah 53:9 foretold that He would be buried with the rich. It is stated in Matthew 27:57 that Joseph, “a rich man” buried Jesus in his own new tomb. Isaiah lived and prophesied more than 700 years before this prophecy was fulfilled. Only God knows the future!
The results of studying the Bible is faith in the God who inspired it. Studying the Bible will lead one to believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus said the results of faith in Him is life. To quote John 11:25-26, “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?’”
My studies have found that Christianity is the only religion which offers a savior to the world. Jesus came to save the people from their sins (Luke 19:10). “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord,” proclaims Romans 6:23.
Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the people. God raised Him from the dead. The result is that Jesus is alive. Jesus said the result is “He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” The results of believing and living for Jesus is life. We all need to choose life.
What will be the result of your belief?
