Thurman Keele, Jr.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Thurman L. Keele, Jr. (Leon), passed away at the age of 77.

Leon was born Nov. 15, 1946, in Illinois to Thurman Keele, Sr. (Monk) and Lillian Louise (Collyott) Keele. He served in the United State Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and retired from Pace Construction in 1998. Leon loved to take his boat out and fish for bass, his largest being 11.1 pounds at Town Lake in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Leon is survived by his three children, Leonda Moffitt (Mike), Christina Pratt (Rodney), and Michael Keele; grandchildren, Nathan Pratt (Erica), Allison Pratt (Ricky Stormes), Campbell Keele, Jordyn Meury (Alex), Landon Keele (Mel), Justin Moffitt (Haley), Brett Keele, Ashlynn Pratt, and Liam Keele; and great-grandchildren, Finn Pratt, Wren Meury, and Noah Meury. He is also survived by his brothers , Norman Lloyd Keele (Becky), Randy Keele (Becky), and sisters, Pat Carson and Linda Lacy (David) and many nephews and nieces.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles Arthur Keele, Delbert Lonnie Keele, William Leonard Keele, Ricky Keele and sister Debbie Ketchum.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
