Eather Murphy

Eather (Eletha) Jackson Murphy, 95.

Born: Feb. 8, 1929.

Died: March 15, 2024

Mrs. Murphy died peacefully at home in Phoenix, Arizona. She lived in Broseley and Poplar Bluff most of her life. She was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Her mother Annas Jackson and grandparents Arthur and Lillie Jackson preceded her in death.

She married Elton Murphy on Oct. 15, 1949, he preceded her in death on April 15, 1996, after 49.5 years of marriage. This union produced five children.

She leaves three children: Cheryl Mitchell (Dale), Chester Murphy (Betty) and Rebecca Porter. Two children preceded their mother in death: Bettye Royster and Phyllis Jordan Jones.

She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be on April 13 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 500 Highway NN, Poplar Bluff. A slideshow will begin at 2:45 p.m. followed by a memorial talk. If you can’t attend in person you will be able to attend via Zoom.
