Anna Schenewerk

Anna Catherine Schenewerk, 92, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Westwood Hills Nursing Center.

Anna was born Oct. 24, 1931, to Ray and Mary (Elson) Starwalt in Mattoon, Illinois. She married Herbert Schenewerk Sept. 9, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas.

Anna was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Altrusa International and the Cardinal Red Hats. Anna was a Twin Springs 4H leader, as well as the President of the PTA. She was a bookkeeper for Bunny Bread Co. for 25 years. Anna was also part owner of Gift Connection in Poplar Bluff, right next to Herbert’s UHAUL store. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Anna is survived by two daughters, Sue (Dennis) Fox and Nancy (Bob) Kimbrow; three grandchildren, Andrew Fox, Nicole (Jeremy) Conover, and Julie Kimbrow; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Brayden Conover, Jeffrey and Kynder Fox.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; five brothers, Willard, Paul, Marion, Harold, and Rex Starwalt.

Visitation will be held from 10 -11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Terry Sharpe officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at P.O. Box 565, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
