Charles Wayne Cagle, son of the late Henry Albert Cagle and Evelyn Jewell Walker Cagle, was born Jan, 24, 1944, in Leora, Missouri and departed this life Feb. 21, 2024, at Prairie View Skilled Nursing in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 80 years.

Mr. Cagle was the co-owner of Technical Plastics of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Hill General Baptist Church in Bloomfield and a resident of Bloomfield.

On Dec. 26, 1964, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Edwards. Mrs. Cagle preceded him in death Jan. 27, 2011.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Christian and husband, Steve, of Dexter; two brothers, Bill Cagle of Qulin, Missouri, and Harold Gene Cagle of Dexter; two sisters, Laverne Fargerson of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Shirley Douglas Thorn of Branson West / Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Christopher Christian and wife, Kimberly, of Dexter, Bethany Clary and husband, Josh, of Bloomfield, Matthew Cagle and wife, Makayla, of Broseley, Missouri, Jacob Cagle of Poplar Bluff, and Madison Cagle of Wappapello, Missouri; and five great-grandchildren, Addison Christian, Keller Christian, Braxton Cagle, Mason Clary, and Briar Cagle.

Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Cagle; three brothers, Norman Walker, Henry “Junior” Cagle, and Clinton Cagle; and two sisters, Gonda Buckalew and Barbara Mayhall.

The family would like to express their appreciation to VNA Hospice and Elara Caring Hospice.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Gilead Hill General Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will then be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024,in the Mathis Funeral Home in Chapel with Dr. Steve Tippen officiating. Interment will follow in the West Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
