Wanda Ellsworth

Wanda Ellsworth departed her loving family to be with the Lord Feb. 19, 2024 at the age of 78.

Wanda was born Dec. 29, 1945 to Roy and Iva Wolverton. She was the youngest of eight children, five of which preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Bruce Hodge; two granddaughters, Amber O’Neal and husband, Jason, and Megan Wineman and husband, Josh; and three great-grandchildren, Addisyn, Amelia, and Liam.

Wanda served 11 years as deputy clerk in the Butler County Clerk’s office from 1967-1978. In 1978, she was the first elected woman in Butler County as the Circuit Clerk and held that office until she retired in August of 2003.

She loved spending time with her family, reading to her greatgrands, fishing, gardening, cooking, collected old jewelry, watching the birds and never missed a sunrise or sunset.

In honor of her wishes, there will be a small, private ceremony to celebrate her life.
