Erma Lee, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, surrounded by what meant the most to her, her family.

Erma was born to Buel and Kathleen Psalmonds Oct. 26, 1956, in Vicksburg, Michigan, and was preceded in death by her loving parents and her dear brother David Psalmonds.

She is survived by the love of her life, James Lee Sr., whom she married Aug. 19, 1978. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She leaves behind her two children, James (Kelly) Lee and Jessica (Michael) Michel, who she loved with her whole heart, in addition to two loving siblings, Michael (Connie) Psalmonds and Glenda Psalmonds.

Erma’s greatest joys were her grandchildren: Rachel and Paisley Hill, Jessica and Jed Michel, Emma and Hannah Tinsley, and Taylor and Stella Lee. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting bonds and unforgettable memories. Her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds, and they were truly the pride and joy of her life.

Above all else, Erma’s faith in God was unwavering. She lived her life with grace, compassion, and kindness, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Her love for God was evident in every aspect of her life, guiding her actions and shaping her character.

She had a passion for sewing, crafts, challenging her mind with games like Jeopardy, and cheering on her St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. She found immense joy in supporting her grandchildren in all their endeavors and celebrating their successes. Her laughter was infectious, and she had a remarkable ability to bring happiness to those around her.

Erma will be remembered as an extraordinary woman who exuded warmth, generosity, and love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As a wife, mother, Grammy and “Mae” to her beloved grandchildren, Erma’s love knew no bounds, and her presence will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Erma’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at Agee Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
