Edward “Ed” Leonard Taylor, 52, passed away in Indianapolis, Indiana on Jan. 15, 2024.

He was born Oct. 15, 1971, to Pauline and Milton Taylor in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Ed, as he was affectionately called, was a 1990 graduate of Poplar Bluff Senior High School. He joined the United States Air Force and completed Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He was trained as an Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) technician and served two years at Lakenheath Air Base in England.

After separating from the military, he worked as an electrician, specializing in commercial and residential projects.

Ed had an ever-present smile, a kind, selfless heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was the type of person who met friends wherever he went. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, fixing cars, telling jokes, and cooking when time allowed.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Milton Roy Taylor, Sr.. He is survived by his mother, Pauline (Brown) Taylor, six sisters, Ellen Harris-Dorris, Brenda Johnson (Harold), Paula Taylor (Gary) and Janice Taylor of Poplar Bluff, and Mildred Clegg (Robert) of Indianapolis; and Connie Taylor of Florissant, Missouri; and four brothers, Everett Brown, Milton Roy Taylor, Jr., and Johnny Taylor (Charmane) of Poplar Bluff, and Isaac Taylor (Oudete) of Plainfield, Illinois, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 at True Believers Missionary Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, officiated by Pastor Carl Williams.
