Lucinda “Cindy” B. Kelley, 83, of Wappapello, Missouri, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Cindy was born April 8, 1940, to Andrew and Katherine (Lynch) O’Callaghan in Port Chester, New York. She married Charles “Pete” Kelley Jan. 17, 1959, in New Port, Rhode Island.

Cindy was a devote Catholic. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Poplar Bluff for almost 50 years. She enjoyed fishing with Pete in their younger years. She also liked to camp and spend time outdoors. Cindy was a proud supporter of her community and contributed through her small business, Kelley’s Market in Wappapello. She was a hard worker for most of her life but became a content housewife in her later years.

Cindy is survived by two children, Chris (Kathy) Kelley and Barbara (Rusty) Nagle; two grandchildren, Nikki (Christian) Chmiel and Justin Castleberry; five great-grandchildren, Lily, Sophie, Tark, Addy, and L.J.; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Cindy was preceded by in death by her parents; husband, Charles “Pete” Kelley; two sisters, Mary Kay Hoose and Patty Rice.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Cindy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School of Poplar Bluff.
