Nora E. Dodd passed away Jan.13, 2024, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Nora was born on June 14, 1934, in Poplar Bluff to the late William C. and Katheryn Boyd-Emerson. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

On June 21, 1953, she was married the late Eual Dodd, until his passing in 2012.

Nora is survived by a brother, Howard (Carolyn) Emerson of Columbia, Missouri; a son, Michael (Diane) Dodd of Poplar Bluff; a daughter Judy (Richard) Tufts of Hillsboro, Missouri; grandsons, Christopher (Janet) Dodd of Poplar Bluff, Matthew (Stephanie) Dodd of Springfield, Tennessee, Andrew (Marcie) Dodd of Austin, Texas, Steven (Amanda) Dodd of Marion, Iowa, Ryan Buchanon of Hillsboro, Randall Buchanon and Aaron Buchanon, both of St. Louis, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Chloe Dodd, Robert Dodd, Heiden Dodd, Emerson Dodd, Madalyn Dodd, Hudson Dodd, Isabel Dodd, Olivia Dodd and Kooper Buchanon.

Nora was preceded in death by her Husband, Eual Dodd, sister Martha Williams, son Robert Dodd, and infant great-granddaughter Joanna Dodd.

Nora’s early married years were spent as a military wife, starting with the Coast Guard in New Orleans, Louisiana. Then her husband changed to the Army, where they spent the next years in Germany, California, Hawaii and Maryland. The family lived in Poplar Bluff while her husband was in Vietnam, followed by their last post in Colorado, before her husband’s retirement from the Army. They then moved back to Poplar Bluff in 1969.

Nora had been a member of Memorial Baptist, Second Baptist, Twin Springs Baptist, then Westwood Baptist Church.

Nora worked as a telephone operator, factory worker, and school cook. She loved gardening, flowers, playing the piano and organ, especially gospel music, and her family and friends. She and her husband enjoyed traveling with their RV.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Proctor and Rev. Chris Dodd officiating. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. at Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
