Jackie Ray Garver, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away on Jan. 11, 2024, at The Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Jackie was born on Aug. 26, 1947, to Doyle and Josephine Garver in Hickoria, Arkansas. He married Melba Garver on March 23, 1973, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Jackie proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a Navy/Marine corpsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, or anything where he could be outdoors. Jackie loved spending time with family, but his pride and joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Melba; one daughter, Robin (Riley); two grandchildren, Joshua Osborn (Hanna) and Mikayla Leutert; seven great-grandchildren, Audrey, Gatlin, Rhett, Jade, Cash, Lucille, and Emersyn; one sister, Judy Catt of Corning, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Josephine; grandparents, Roy and Julia Calhoun; and one brother, Ronnie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
