James Brigance

James “Ricky” Brigance, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Brigance was born July 5, 1947, in Dexter, Missouri, son of the late Felton and Marie Brigance (née Pruett). On July 18, 1981, he married Patty Blakenship Brigance. With her came three boys; Rick was the only dad these boys ever had. He had a lifelong career as a truck driver.

Ricky is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patty Brigance; three sons, James Felton (Lori) Brigance, Thomas Bagwell, Barry (Shauna) Bagwell, and a grandson he raised from a baby, Trevor Bagwell; daughter-in-law: Kristie Bagwell Todd; nine grandchildren, Austin (Kaitlyn), Aaron (Heaven), Allyson (Skyler), Hunter, Lindsey, Johnna, James Felton, Amanda (Doug), Fisher; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Steve (Shirley) Brigance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Shannon Brigance; and one son, Johnny Bagwell.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Brigance and Rev. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial will follow at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
