Michael Darnell

Michael T. Darnell, age 59, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, left his earthly home to enter his eternal resting place in Heaven on Nov. 28, 2023.

He was born Nov. 3, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Ted and Ruth (O’Dell) Darnell. He married the love of his life, Alesia Eads, on Sept. 12, 1987, in Williamsville, Missouri. They enjoyed 36 wonderful years of marriage. On June 22, 1998, Mike and Alesia were blessed with their only son, Justin.

Mike enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal baseball, NASCAR Cup racing, hunting with his son, Justin, and his spending time with his family.

Mike took the initiative in a leadership role in his career with the Missouri Department of Conservation and was a well-respected employee. He also enjoyed working on projects at home and spending time outdoors. He was a member of Kerns Chapel Church of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. His greatest blessing and pride and joy was his son, Justin. In later years, he loved visiting his son and daughter-in-law in Wisconsin.

Mike is survived by his wife, Alesia of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; his son, Justin and wife McKenzie of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; his parents, Ted and Ruth Darnell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; his brother, Jeff Darnell and wife Monda of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; his nephews, Craig Darnell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Tyler Darnell and wife Chasidy of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Visitation services will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at Fowler and Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Officiating the service will be Reverend Kent Miller. Burial will be at the Kerns Chapel cemetery immediately following the service. Justin Darnell, Kevin Darnell, Craig Darnell, Tyler Darnell, Grant Miller, James Wilson, Jacob Barks, and Caleb Barks will serve as pallbearers.
