Santa Land will be held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Black River Coliseum and now is the time for families to register to attend.

The heartwarming annual community event is open to the public, and is a festive celebration that aims to spread joy and give back to children during the holiday season, said Kyler Sowell, Santa Land coordinator.

While the event is free to attend, registration is required by calling 573-686-8645. The deadline to register is the day of the event or until that time slot is full.

Families who have children with special needs can register to attend from 5:30-6 p.m. Four time slots for families to register to attend are 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

“The event brings together families from all around to partake in a night filled with Christmas cheer supported by local area businesses, school clubs and organizations,“ Sowell said.

Children attending Santa Land are treated to a magical experience that includes a range of festive activities from crafting ornaments and decorating cookies to enjoying holiday-themed games, Sowell said, adding there’s no shortage of merriment.

“The highlight of the evening is the opportunity for kids to meet Santa Claus himself, share their Christmas wishes, and capture the moment with a cherished photo,” Sowell said. “As an extra special touch, each child leaves Santa Land with a gift, creating lasting memories of joy and creating a sense of community through this heartwarming event.”

Organizers said, they “have a full house of booths, volunteers are welcome.” Anyone who wants to volunteer may call the Poplar Bluff Park Department.
