Brenda Sue Sisk, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri went to be with Jesus Nov. 11, 2023. She suffered a long battle with scleroderma, and is now freed from this disease.

Brenda was born to William and Edith Waller Sept. 11, 1953. She gave her life to Jesus at the age of 10, and has been a life-long, dedicated member of Cornerstone Tabernacle in Poplar Bluff. For 50 years she was a beloved Sunday school teacher in the toddler class. Over the years, she taught countless Sunday school lessons, served mountains of snacks, rivers of juice, and brought countless souls to Christ. For as long as she was able, she was a chauffeur to any who needed a ride to church.

Brenda worked at J.C. Penney Co. in Poplar Bluff for almost 30 years, where she made many dear friends. She loved helping people and was well-known in the community for her many years of service there.

Her favorite activities during her retirement years were reading, visiting with friends, and spending time with her family.

Brenda is survived by her two sons, James Sisk (Amanda Sisk) and Scott Sisk (Andrea Sisk); four grandchildren, Chloe Sisk, Cameron Sisk, Alexis Sisk and Evan Sisk; and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold Sisk, and her beloved dog Gracie.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Fowler Sullivan Funeral home in Poplar Bluff with a graveside service at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery at 1 p.m. with Rev. John Sprous officiating.
