Joanne Johnson

Carolyn “Joanne” Johnson, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Nov.8, 2023, at River Mist Assisted Living in Poplar Bluff.

Joanne was born April 23, 1934, to Virgil and Juanita (White) Baker in Chaonia Landing, Missouri. She married Robert Leo Johnson in Poplar Bluff.

Joanne was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Poplar Bluff. Joanne enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and reading. She was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to cheering on her grandchildren. Joanne always made sure to be well put together and enjoyed her weekly trips to the beauty shop. She had a way of bringing smiles and laughter to those she crossed paths with and never met a stranger.

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Renee (Scott) Lovelace; two sisters, Shelba Brown and Sandra Baker-Probasco; two grandchildren, Andrea (Russell) Crismon and Lindsay (Neal); four great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Austin, Mallory, and Gavin.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson and one sister, Barbara Lee Baker.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Chaplain Jamie Jones officiating.
