Gary Silman

Gary Benjamin Silman of Naylor, Missouri, passed away Oct. 31, 2023, at his residence.

He was born March 16, 1944, at Tallapoosa, Missouri to the late Benjamin Franklin Silman and Pauline Belle “Beegle” Silman.

On June 23, 1963, at Portageville, Missouri, he was married to Bernice Silkwood. She survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, Kim Gower and husband, Dean, of Ellsinore, Missouri. He is also survived by one sister, Billie Maxine Julius of Grandin, Missouri; two brothers, Anthony Blaine Silman of Poplar Bluff and Scott Franklin Silman of Grandin, as well as four grandchildren, Chasity, Ashley, Bub, and Jesse, and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded by his parents as well as one son: Joey Silman; two sisters: Connie Sue Silman and Delois Ann Silman; and two brothers: Cleatus Gail Silman and Arthur Nelson Silman.

Gary had served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam era,, He had worked at Briggs and Stratton and enjoyed, woodwork, welding, playing ball with his kids, working on small engines, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, with the funeral starting at 1 pm. Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, all in the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home of Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Coon Island Cemetery with Donnie Fowler officiating. There will be full Military Honors.
