Two injured in early morning home invasion, suspects sought

Poplar Bluff police are searching for multiple suspects after two people were injured in an attempted forced home invasion early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. in the 100 block of West Lexington Avenue, according to police reports.

“Victims said two or three persons dressed in dark clothing tried to force entry through the front door of the residence and fired several shots through the door before fleeing the scene,” police report. “Two victims sustained moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to the emergency room.”

No additional details were available as of 8:45 a.m.
