Barry Carr Sr.

Barry Edward Carr Sr., 69, of Rineyville, Kentucky passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Mr. Carr was the owner of E'town Realty. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the American Legion and HKAR Real Estate. He was a 1973 graduate of Neelyville High School and also attended Riverview Gardens High School in St. Louis County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bobbie Carr; his brother, Ron Carr; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Senta Gilland; and his sister-in-law, Sonja Clark.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Carr; three children, Mike Buhler of Hendrickson, Missouri, Kaleena Reams of Somerset, Kentucky and Barry Edward Carr Jr. of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Addison Rose Carr and her mother, Lyndsey Carr of Ocala, Florida, and James Thomas Reams and John Paul Reams of Somerset; a brother-in-law, Richard Clark Sr. of Radcliff, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Neila Carr of Arkansas; two nephews, Richard “Ricky” Clark Jr. (Faye) of Radcliff and Chris Aldridge of St. Peters, Missouri; four nieces, Elizabeth Clark of Radcliff, Pam (Jeffrey) Gilbo of Fredericktown, Missouri, Stephanie (Dan) Peiffer of Brighton, Illinois and Ashleigh (Mark) Ledbetter of Arkansas; and a sister, Debbie (Don) Slover of Troy, Missouri.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff. Burial with military honors follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, and continues from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, 2072 S. Dixie Blvd. in Radcliff.
