Herman Prenzel

Herman Prenzel passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, he was 84.

Mr. Prenzel was born Feb. 19, 1939, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to the late Chris Prenzel and Melda Davis Prenzel.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Prenzel.

Mr. Prenzel is survived by his wife, Betty; three children, Dianna Goodman (Rick) of Grove Hill, Alabama, Teresa Lewis (Maxwell) and Kenneth Prenzel, both of Poplar Bluff; as well as three grandchildren; Laura, Ben and Ryan; and seven great-grandchildren; Kaytlin, Allie Grace, Sayge, Deklan, Sadie, Finn and Everly. Also surviving are three siblings, Marietta Ward, Linda Doser, and Edward Prenzel.

Prior to his retirement he had worked as a chief engineer for TECO Energy, but now enjoyed spending his time horseback riding, hunting, and spending his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was an active member of Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center and loved his church family.

Visitation will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday with funeral services following at noon. Both will take place at the Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center, in Poplar Bluff. Burial will follow in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery, with Rev. Ben Walker and Rev. Ryan Walker officiating.
