FREE ACCESS: PBRMC holding memorial for pregnancy and infant loss

Thursday, October 12, 2023

A special event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

It will be located at the pond behind Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

“We understand the profound impact that the loss of a pregnancy or an infant can have on families. We believe that coming together as a community can provide comfort, support, and healing during these challenging times,” organizers said in a press release.

A lantern release ceremony will be held, as well as information and stories shared by speakers.

“This symbolic act of releasing lanterns into the night sky serves as a tribute to the precious lives we have lost and a source of solace for those who carry the weight of this grief,” officials said.

The event will also offer an opportunity for attendees to share personal reflection and connect with others who have shared similar experience.
