Mary Ball

Mary Ann Ball, 88, of South County died Sept. 22, 2023, with her family around her.

Born Jan.17, 1935 in Naylor, Missouri, she was the daughter of William and Elsie Tyra. After high school, she moved to St. Louis, where she met and married John E. Ball of Koshkonong, Missouri. They raised four children: Dale E. Ball of Barnhart, Missouri, Judy (Rick) Kedro of Affton, Missouri, Connie (John) Schneider of House Springs, Missouri, and Philip (Jodee) Ball of Waynesville, Ohio.

Mary Ann canned and froze garden vegetables to feed her family, sewed for the family, did many crafts and projects through her years. She worked as a church secretary for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years: John Ball; two sisters: Shirley Tyra and Norma Lewis, and a brother: Joe Tyra.

She is survived by two brothers: Robert (Phyllis) Tyra, John (Karen) Tyra, and one sister: Doris (Randy) Scott, and her four children, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary Ann loved the Lord and was a member of South County Baptist Church. She was an encourager and blessing to many.
