Nelda Gambill

Nelda Gail Gambill, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Oct. 2, 2023, at her home in Poplar Bluff.

Nelda was born May 16, 1941, to Fred and Gertrude Dicken in Reyno, Arkansas. She married Verlin Gambill July 8, 1961.

Nelda was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her family, loved Friday nights and luncheons with her friends and classmates, and enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports. She was a Shrinette and retired from Merchantile Bank.

Nelda is survived by one daughter, Teresa Stonecipher; daughter-in-law, Betty Gambill; one sister-in-law, Wanda Gaebler; seven grandchildren, Shaundel, Stefanie (Todd), Jonathan, Kimberly, Kassie (C.J.), Jessica (John), and Natalie; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verlin (Butch) Gambill; one son, Steven Gambill; one grandson, Jordan Gambill; and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will immediately follow beginning at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Jim Shremp officiating. Burial will take place at the Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
