Allen Moore Jr.

Allen V. Moore Jr., 76, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri was ushered into heaven Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023.

Allen was born May 3, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, to Allen V. Moore, Sr. and Merle M. (Stucker) Moore.

Allen served in the Army and spent 13 months on the DMZ in Korea. He held positions with the Poplar Bluff Fire Department as captain, Mobile Oil Corp. and Porter DeWitt. He enjoyed listening to his scanners and was an avid train enthusiast of which he shared with his youngest grandson, Samuel. He enjoyed time with all four of his precious grandchildren.

Allen is survived by his spouse, Donna (Jameson) Moore; one daughter, Angela Moore; one son, Steven Allen Moore; and four grandchildren, Elijah, John and Samuel Moore, and Trevor Thurman Moore, all of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Juanita Stucker and one brother Claude Wayne Moore of Poplar Bluff.

Allen was preceded in death by his father, Allen V. Moore Sr.; his mother, Merle M. Moore; and one brother, Johnny L. Moore.

Visitation will be held from 10 -11a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, at Temple Baptist Church, 1813 Barron Road. Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
