Michael James Zgaynor, 51, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, Aug, 22, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Michael was born Sept. 22, 1971, to William and Marie Burns (Vezzetti) Zgaynor in Canon City, Colorado.

Michael Zgaynor was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church. He was also a lifelong healthcare provider as a business owner and physical therapist assistant. He always saw that the patient’s family had not only the care they needed to physically meet their goals, but also went the extra mile of helping their stays be more comfortable and personal. There was nothing Michael loved more than his friends, except his girls. Ella and Kennedy were his whole purpose whether it was running around to get the latest bat and glove for softball, driving across country to see them play, making sure they had the car, prom dress, healthcare, religious guidance or just snuggles while watching a movie. They were his world. Michael had a huge heart and loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were his greatest hobbies beyond his family. His best buddy growing up, Bob Carochi along with his dad William, spent Mike’s early years cultivating that love. In later years he spent countless hours with his Cane Creek brothers hunting and fishing.

Michael is survived by his mother, Marie Burns; aunt, Corrine (Bill) Shaffer; two daughters, Ella and Kennedy Zgaynor and their mother,Michelle Zgaynor; fiance, Amy Manchester; sister, Tami (Mike) Mcfee; two nieces, Kaile and Avery.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, William Zgaynor and stepfather, Patrick Burns.

Memorial gathering will be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will follow beginning at 11 a.m. with Father Daniel Robles officiating.
