Glenna Mae Keown, 92, of Clarksdale, Mississippi, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 at home.

Ms. Keown was born in Success, Arkansas, July 13, 1931. She was retired, having had worked at the Clay County Courier, the glass company, she did ceramics and doll making out of her home and owned her own bait and T-shirt shop in Corning. She was a Worthy Grand Matron of the Eastern Star in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and brothers-in-law to South Africa, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, China, Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico and much of the lower United States.

She loved to quilt; she still had many that she had made. She also loved to china and oil paint, doll making, crochet and knit. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the church orchestra and made a mission’s trip to Costa Rica with the church.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Dawn Keown (Rod) Spinks of Clarksdale, Mississippi; sons, James (Bonnie) Keown of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Bryan Keown of Frisco, Colorado; sisters, Wanda Lee Stallings Ramsey of Oakville, Connecticut, and Erma Rae Stallings Richey of Sun City West, Arizona; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd Euel and Estil Reva (Dearing) Stallings.

Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 in the Corning Cemetery.
