Everett Montgomery

Everett Lynn Montgomery, 87, of Marshall, Missouri (previously of Poplar Bluff), passed away Tuesday, Aug.15, 2023.

Everett was born Jan. 16, 1936, to Everett and Ruth (Barbour) Montgomery in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He married Lois N. Sheehy July 25, 1954, also in Poplar Bluff.

Everett was a member of First Baptist Church of Marshall. He was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. He worked for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Everett was the first Chief Park Ranger in the state of Missouri. In his spare time, he enjoyed metal detecting, scuba diving, boating, fishing, and golfing. He liked spending time outdoors and with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Everett is survived by two daughters, Debby (Gary) Mawson of Marshall and Becky Montgomery of Bentonville, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Brett Mawson of Columbia, Missouri, and Kim (Jeff) Ullmann of Kansas City, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Alicia, Kaulin, Lillie, Brody, and Kaidence; brother, Robert Montgomery of Poplar Bluff.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; son, Scott Montgomery.

Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at Three Springs Cemetery in Butler County with Pastor Jim Schremp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church in Marshall.
