Bobbie ‘Bob’ Blankenship Crane, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was called to his heavenly home Saturday, July 29, 2023, at his residence.

Bob was born June 14, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan to Ora Blankenship and Alma Marie (Odell) Crane. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. After serving in the military, he married the love of his life, Barbara Allen June 16, 1962, in Poplar Bluff.

Bob and Barbara both worked for R-1 Poplar Bluff Public School System, he as a high school counselor and she as business teacher for 30 years before their retirement in 1993. They were former members of Poplar Bluff First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. They are currently members of Temple Baptist Church, where he also served as a Deacon. Bob and Barbara were passionate for Jesus Christ and His kingdom and served in any role they were called to. They enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, camping and fishing, with Yellowstone National Park being their favorite park.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara; a sister, Sharon A. White of Poplar Bluff; and a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Conway O. Crane, and Bill D. Crane, and two nephews, Jimmy Dale Trout and Herschel Vernon.

A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at Temple Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 11 a.m., with Pastor Steve Patterson officiating. A burial with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church in his memory.
