Jack G. Heaton, 81, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away, July 30, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 15, 1941, at Bassett, Arkansas to the late Carl D. Heaton and Fennie Irene “Oaks” Heaton.

On May 19, 1961, he was married to Mary Sue Davis at Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2021.

He had worked as the plant manager for Rowe Furniture and enjoyed watching TV., Ham Radio, listening to music and taking walks with Ben Te.

He is survived by one daughter, Angela Thurston, and husband, Ronnie, of Wappappello, Missouri; and one daughter-in-law, Tina Heaton of Springfield, Missouri; as well as one sister, Fay Huneycutt of Poplar Bluff. He is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley Lepold and husband, Nick, and Jacklyn Heaton, one great-granddaughter, Mary Claire; and bonus grandchildren, Brad, Mandy, and Blaire Holloway; also, two sisters-in-law, Velta Heaton and JoAnn Bruce, both of Poplar Bluff.

He is preceded by his wife, one son Richard D. Heaton, parents and four sisters, Donis Lemings, Sally Lemings, Bonnie Reed, Carolyn Aldrich, and four brothers, Gordon Bennett, William Carl Heaton, Melvin Heaton, and C.D. Heaton.

Visitation will be starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, with the funeral following at 11 a.m. all in the Fowler and Son Funeral Home at Neelvyille, Missouri. Burial will be in the Qulin Cemetery with Bishop Ronnie Webb officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church and Heartland Family Shelter.
