Charles Ronald Sisk, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away July 19, 2023, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cape Girardeau.

Charlie was born Aug. 18, 1940, to Serrah and Elsie (Sutton) Sisk in Charleston, Missouri.

Charlie joined the Air Force in 1961 at the age of 20 and was honorably discharged in 1965. While stationed in Blytheville, Arkansas, he met the love of his life Opal “Bunny” Durham at the drive in in Hayti, Missouri. They just so happened to even have the same make, model, and color car. They went on to marry on February 07, 1964, in Caruthersville, Missouri. From that day forward, they were together every day until Bunny passed away in 2018.

Charlie and Bunny welcomed their son into the world in 1966, followed by their daughter the next year. Charlie sold insurance with Western Southern for a short time before joining the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He served with the Highway Patrol for 31 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant all while staying in Troop E area. Charlie lived and breathed his job as a proud Highway Patrolman. Charlie was an active member of Temple Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #2452 here in Poplar Bluff for 50 years. He loved telling stories about his time with the Patrol. Charlie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

Charlie is survived by two children, Steve Sisk and Susan (Jimmy) Lemonds; three grandchildren, Grant (Lindsey) Lemonds, Austin Lemonds, and Melodi-Roz Sisk; great-granddaughter, Karter Laine Lemonds; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife; great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Nichole Lemonds; three sisters, Wilma “Sissy”, Joyce “JoJo”, and Margaret “Sug”.
