Everett Burkhart

Everett Burkhart, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Monday July 17, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Oct. 13, 1946, Poplar Bluff, to Edgar Burkhart and Edna (Williams) Burkhart.

Everett was a lifetime resident of Butler County. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, working on motors. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Everett is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Burkhart of Poplar Bluff; three sons: Jr. Burkhart of Poplar Bluff, Jewell Burkhart of Farmington and Stephen Nelson of Cuba, Illinois; three daughters: Tina Cearley of Fordyce, Arkansas, Kayla Thweatt of Paducah, Kentucky and Debbie Ford of Poplar Bluff; three brothers: Ronnie Burkhart, Jimmy Burkhart and Glen Burkhart, all of Poplar Bluff; six sisters: Barbara Rinabarger of Wellsville, Kansas, Edna Geter of Doniphan, Marie Jameson of LaSalles, Ellen Anderson, Judy Powell and Jeannie Allen, all of Poplar Bluff; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents: Edgar and Edna Burkhart and one son: Richard Coulter. A host of family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Daughhetee Cemetery in Poplar Bluff. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
