Suspect sought in home invasion, vehicle theft

The Butler County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help in locating a suspect in a home invasion and vehicle theft.

The suspect is believed to be Jamie Carter.

It is believed Carter broke into the victim’s home Thursday around 6 p.m. and kept the victim captive until approximately 12:15 p.m. Friday. It is further thought Carter stole the victim’s white 2012 Ford Escape. The Escape’s license plate is LG1-NGR.

Carter allegedly was asked Thursday to leave the Dollar General store on Highway PP and from there she reportedly went to the victim’s residence.

Carter stands approximately 5-feet-5 inches and weighs about 180 pounds. She is reportedly a transient and in the company of a dark-colored dog.
