Sarah Hervey

Sarah Elizabeth Hervey, 90, of Neelyville, passed away June 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born, Nov. 4, 1932 in Harviell to the late Joseph Harden and Flora Fields Harden.

She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Harviell and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, baby sitting and her church.

In 1974, She married John D. Hervey at Harviell. He preceded her on July 4, 2003.

She is also preceded by one child, Debra Jean Griffin, her sisters, Clora Gatewood, Frankie Lee Thomas and Mary Lee Coleman as well as brothers, Nathaniel Fields, Elmer Harden, Henry Harden, Theadore Harden, Hubert Harden, Johnnie Harden, Kevin Harden and J.C. Harden.

She is survived by; her children, Loyd L. Majeed of Beloit, WI, Danny L. Harden of Poplar Bluff and John David Harden of Poplar Bluff that she raised as her own, one sister, Helen Allen of Beloit, WI and one brother, Oscar Harden of St. Louis, as well as thirteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Hervey will start Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 12:00 p.m.. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie McCain officiating.
