Ed Gore

Cecil Edward “Ed” Gore, son of the late Thomas Calvin Gore and Minnie Belle (Pankey) Gore was born on March 11, 1940, in Ellsinore, Missouri and departed this life on April 15, 2023 in Ellsinore. He had attained the age of 83 years, one month and four days. Ed had resided in Ellsinore for most of his life. He was of the Christian faith and had attended the Church of Christ in Van Buren, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, working, boat riding on the Current River and taking rides on his side-by-side. Ed was a jokester, strong-willed and one-of-a-kind. He had a unique and powerful love for his family.

On April 9, 1959, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Owen in Malden, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Gore of Ellsinore; his children, Ricky Gore of Van Buren, Shayne Gore of Ellsinore, Ashley Smith (Colby) of Arkansas, and Kris Gore (Kendra) of Ellsinore; one brother, Ken Gore (Juanita); nine grandchildren, Mitchell Wayne Gore, Shayne Lee Gore, Nichole Gore, Kiersten Tallent, Trey Tallent, Ayden Tallent, Layne Tallent, Kayne Gore and Kason Gore; and many relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by one brother, Denver Gore; six sisters, Zora Crouch, Minnie O’Dell, Jennie Gore, Dorothy Gore, Marie Cobb and Thelma McGinnis.

A Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Church of Christ in Van Buren, with the funeral services following at noon in the Church Chapel. Rev. Jeff Martin will be officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Lawn Cemetery in Carter County, Missouri.
