Pauline Hammons, 93, of Poplar Bluff, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in Poplar Bluff.

Pauline was born on Jan. 18, 1930, to Wyman and May (Cardwell) Ramsey in Bernie.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff but also attended Grace Christian Fellowship from time to time. Pauline was a lifelong educator and began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse in Elk. She went on to work at Lake Road Elementary School for nearly 27 years. Pauline was a talented singer and member of the Grace Messengers Quartet. She liked crocheting, embroidering and playing board and card games in her spare time. Pauline was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens throughout the years. She loved all flowers, plants and trees. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Pauline is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Baker and Sheila Polaschek; one son, Aaron Hammons; one sister, Peggy (Vernon) Kneir; four grandchildren, Ciera Baker, Riley Polaschek, Cidney Polaschek, and Zachary Polaschek; along with numerous family members and friends.

Pauline was preceded in death by parents; five sisters, Evelyn Jones, Lena Brandt, Audrey Smith, Nora Snider, and Marilee Mcknight; three brothers, Wyman Jr, Clyde, and Glen Ramsey; nephew, Melvin Brandt; niece, Marie Hobbs and husband Gene.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, at Grace Christian Fellowship. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, with Pastor Brian Sharp officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
