Cheryl Hillis

Cheryl Martin Hillis, 74, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Cheryl was born July 4, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of the late Russell and Rosemary Martin. She loved her church family. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Cheryl is survived by three children: Stephanie (Andreas) Thum of Fairfax, Virginia, Lori (Tom) Roth of Greenville, Missouri, and Carrie Hillis of Broseley, Missouri; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two siblings: Michael Lester Martin and Kathleen Martin Sexton.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff with Pastor Brandon Spain officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church or to the The Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
