Bettie Vesterby

Bettie G. Vesterby, 94, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Sunday, April 9, 2023, at her residence in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Vesterby was born to the late Aaron and Bertha Mae Gibbs in Malden, Missouri, Sept. 1, 1928. She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Bettie loved to be needed. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed baking and quilting. She also loved her dog, Sadie.

Bettie is survived by three daughters: Pat Nobles and Phyllis Cunningham, both of Poplar Bluff, and Faye Littrell, of Hillsboro, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Tim Nobles, Darla McCollough, Deanna Williams, Harold Redd, Richard Cunningham, Amanda Britan, and Amy Thayer; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Bettie was also preceded in death by her husband: Royn “Curly” Vesterby; two brothers: Norman and Earnest Gibbs; two sisters: Doris Elderbrook and Virginia Morganthaler; and one son: MAC Cunningham.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Mike Williamson officiating.
