49th & 50th fatalities for Troop E in Poplar Bluff this morning

A double fatality occurred in the morning hours Thursday, Oct. 13, at the location of County Road 441, 5 miles North of Highway PP in Poplar Bluff.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by James D. Fuller, 26, of Poplar Bluff crossed the center line, striking a second vehicle head on.

Fuller and the driver of the second vehicle, 67-year-old James S. Osborn, also of Poplar Bluff, were killed in the accident, troopers report. Both victims were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Fuller was pronounced deceased at 7:41 a.m., according to reports. Osborn was pronounced deceased at 8:57 a.m.

Fuller was northbound in a 2016 Ford Mustang when the accident occurred. Osborn was southbound in a 2012 Toyota Sienna.

MSHP reports families for both victims have been notified. These are the 49th and 50th fatalities for Troop E in 2022. More information will be provided as it is received.
